PENN Entertainment, a leader in the gaming and entertainment industry, has demonstrated a strong commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion within its workforce. With 47% of its total workforce comprising women, the company has implemented several initiatives to support and advance female employees.

In 2023, PENN launched the “PENN Women” program, designed to encourage women to pursue leadership roles across its casinos and corporate offices. This initiative focuses on inclusivity, networking and mentoring opportunities.

The company’s efforts extend to recruitment and development. Its LEAP internship program saw 52% female participation in 2023, while the Emerging Leaders Program had 62% female participants. PENN also offers a $1 million annual scholarship fund for children of team members, with 67% of recipients identifying as female.

“PENN believes that their people are their most important asset,” said Amy Brennan, vice president and general manager at Hollywood Casino Perryville.

The company’s commitment to diversity has garnered recognition. Newsweek named PENN one of “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity,” and Forbes listed it among “America’s Best Employers for Diversity 2023” and “America’s Best Large Employers 2023.”

PENN’s board diversity has also been acknowledged, with four female directors named by WomenInc. as Most Influential Corporate Board Directors in 2023.

The company’s dedication to diversity extends beyond its workforce. PENN has contributed over $450,000 to women-focused charities and events, and its properties provide financial support to numerous women-focused professional associations and chambers of commerce.

Looking ahead, PENN plans to host four conferences in 2024 in partnership with Global Gaming Women, further demonstrating its ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering women in the workplace.
